Noxious Weed Control Back to Projects
The Salmon River Canyon has a problem with invasive, noxious weeds. Working with the U.S. Forest Service, the owners have been treating the property to remove the weeds - primarily spotted knapweed. Three approved herbicides are used. One near water, another under trees and a third in open areas. Color is added to the chemicals so treated areas can be identified. After the initial broadcast application, annual spot treatment is required. It has been a successful, but never ending program.
